In other words, your nervous system has learned to be constantly "on" to protect you from danger (tensing your muscles, boosting your heart rate, etc)... and it forgot how to relax and slow down.
Overtime, working on overdrive without soothing the nervous system can lead to insomnia, immune system deficiencies, chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, and much more. And we didn't even cover emotional consequences!
